Interested to participate in a 10 Player Amateur League?
As the list of 10 Men and 10 Women Players to compete at the upcoming Malaysian Masters Chess Championship 2025 are being finalized by CHESS HUB SDN BHD and THE MALAYSIAN CHESS FEDERATION, two additional Amateur Leagues are being created to provide opportunities for local players to experience playing in a Round Robin Tournament that deploys a full time control of 90 minutes + 30 seconds.
Entries are limited to 20 players who have either a Standard or Rapid FIDE Rating of below 2000, and the entry fee is set at RM150 per person. Foreigners who are keen to play are required to pay RM200 to participate in the event. Players will then be divided into 2 groups of 10 players (to be divided equally in order to balance the rating) and players will play in a Round Robin format with a full time control of 90 minutes + 30 seconds per player per game.
Each Group will offer a prize fund of RM900 as follows: Champion: RM400, Runner Up: RM300 and Third: RM200.
Closing date to apply is set on 13th June 2025 or once the number of applications have reached 20 players. Any over subscription shall be refunded accordingly. Players who participated in this event shall be responsible for their own transport and accommodation throughout the 5 day event.
